Description Technical Specs.
Used in the final three forms of the Kendo Kata this kodachi is made from a wonderfully solid piece of Japanese white oak. White oak is commonly regarded as one of the finest materials to make bokken from. It is moderately hard with a very fine grain that absorbs impacts exceptionally well - making it particularly suited to hard contact kata and repeated use. Further mroe it is denser than red oak giving it a solid feel akin to a real sword. For these reasons it is favoured by many practitioners who like a solidity in their techniques as well as for suburi practice.

As this is a product made from traditionally used natural materials the actual colour of the wood or the grain may differ from the image. It has been made entirely in Japan and we can ship it around the world at no extra charge.
