This new style of shinai is taking Japan by storm. Utilizing the 'best of both worlds' from both Dobari and Kotogata Shinai types. This Shinai has a maneuverable tip, but is balanced in such a way that you are still able to dominate the centre-line and deliver decisive strikes.
 
Ten Ka Fu Bu are the words chosen by the great Oda Nobunaga for use on his personal seal, and it means 'to spread militarism to all beneath the sky'. These words are engraved on one side of this beautiful hand made Shinai. 
 
Ten Ka Fu Bu 'Hakkaku' is a revolutionary new type of Shinai, which makes use of a brand new type of grip called 'Hakkaku Koban', which is currently taking Japan by storm! Especially popular with high-graded Sensei, the handle is shaped in an elongated Octagonal shape, making it fit perfectly to the palm of the hand.  This makes the Ten Ka Fu Bu 'Hakkaku' comfortable to hold, whilst encouraging a natural, relaxed grip.

This shinai reminds me of an oval grip madake shinai I was using before I ordered. But this shinai has alot better balance and feels lighter despite being the same weight. I ordered the fully furnished version but hindsight you probably will be okay with bamboo only if you already have leather parts. The lead time is just like they said 3 months so plan accordingly. If you break alot of shinai you might want to look for lower priced shinai.
