It features a super-soft, cushioned futon made from the best available materials and each set is completely made to order. That means it is completely customisable and will be made in Japan to your EXACT size!

The Futon of the Mine Bogu is stitched using the extremely popular 'Pitch-zashi' (also called Naga-zashi). This is where the length of the stitches is longer than standard making the Futon even more flexible than with a standard Bogu set. There are 2 stitch widths available 6mm (2.0 Bu) and 4mm (1.3 Bu) both offering an extremely flexible, cushioned and protective Futon.

Also there are three types of reinforcement available - Clarino, Orizashi and Deerskin.

Clarino is a man-made leather which is used to simulate Deerskin. It light and strong, but as it is synthetic it does not develop the same shade of indigo that genuinely dyed materials do.

Orizashi is a reinforcement made of thick cotton, it is light weight and dries very quickly, so is perfect if you live in a hot or humid climate.

Deerskin is the most prestigious of the three options, and is considered to look the best. It is dyed using genuine Japanese Shoaizome Indigo dye and will hold a beautiful colour as the years pass by.

first time kendo with that bogu June 7, 2011

today was my first kendo practice with the new bogu and its just "wow" i mean i didn't feel a think when people hit men or kote even if they hit hard. the shock absorption really paid off. i couldn't feel the weight either and the smell of the smoked deerskin filled up my men and the dojo :P

only think minus was that i sweet a lot more in the men haha ^^
